Underground Coal Gasification

Like CBM, Underground Coal Gasification (UCG) is a vital and new technology in the Australian Energy Market. UCG is set to provide low cost synthetic diesel (amongst other products) for an ever increasing energy market, making this venture competitive in comparison to conventional fuel production.

Triassic has been on board with Australia’s largest and most experienced UCG companies. We are presently exploring new and existing deposits and evaluating them for future production potential. Triassic geologists are involved in both the field work (managing drilling operations, geophysical logging and interpretation, complying with environmental and cultural heritage issues and other field based duties) as well as compiling all the field data into a resource model which will enable these companies to prove up resources, report information to the Australian Stock Exchange and prosper through this new technology. With further investment, the UCG companies will move into full-scale production, and Triassic will be well placed to assist in all future exploration and production-oriented activities in an industry which is able to exploit previously uneconomical coal reserves.
